Among the Stars is a very personal song that explores the devastation of a friendship that descended into drama and ended in heartbreak and silence. There is this kind of shock you go through when someone you love and care about abandons you. Grief like they died rather than simply exiting your life, and it doesn't heal quickly. I'm leaving the proverbial door open in the hope that they will return someday.
